Controls and System Engineer

What we’re looking for

A control and systems engineer is required to develop network enabled electronics for work on renewable energy systems. The developments will be taken through from initial concept to market.  A small amount of travel will be required mostly in the UK.

The role

Development of control systems and sensors for renewable energy systems that interface to a variety of pressure and temperature sensors.  These will need to be controlled by RCMS systems and developed into being IOT capable.  The basic elements will be locally controlled by a raspberry pi computer.

Other work involves developing control systems that interface to automotive engine management systems.

Personal profile

You will need to show evidence of the following skills and personal qualities:

  • testing installations and systems, and analysing test data

AD Lab Assistant

We are looking for a student/graduate in microbiology/chemistry to work on a feasibility study with us.  The feasibility study is funded by Innovate UK and concerns optimising anaerobic digestion processes.  The internship/short-term contract would be for twelve months initially, but could be extended.  The candidate would be based on a farm in Truro and responsible for gathering and analysing testing data.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Set up lab tests
  • Measure output data
  • Developing reporting system
  • Analyse reports and suggest future testing

Working conditions/hours

Candidate would be expected to spend most of his/her time on site in the farm in Truro.  The candidate would also spend some time in our head office in Wadebridge, and occasionally further travel may be required (our office in Harwell, Oxfordshire).

The candidate would need to work 36 hours p/w, but there is a degree of flexibility in how the hours are arranged.  Competitive salary offered and the potential for further career opportunities.
